Beijing Capital Museum

Posted with LifeCast

As part of the Beijing Olympics, the Beijing capital Museum brought together from all the museums of other provinces and cities for a 5,000 Years of Chinese Culture Exhibition. It was too good to miss. Otherwise, I will have to travel to many different provinces and cities to see these artifacts. All for RMB30!

Wet, Wet, Wet

The Chinese athlete Liu Chang was supposed to run in the 110m hurdles today. Unfortunately, he pulled out of the heats becasue of torn ligaments in his left Achilles Heel. The tickets were selling on the black market for over RMB5,000 before and were down to RMB1,000 after he pulled out.

This is a photo of the track from my seat near the starting line.

My Beijing Olympics 2008

Posted with LifeCast

I was very lucky to be given a ticket to the Beijing Olympics (athletics).

I was advised to leave for the "Bird's Nest" 2 hours before the start of the events. That wasn't anywhere near enough because after many days of brilliant sunchine, it finally rained in Beijing. I was driven to the Anzhwnmen underground station where I took a #10 subway to the Beitoucheng station and changed to a #8 subway for the Olympics park.

At the Beitoucheng, everyone had to pass through a security check before being allowed to enter the subway station. This photo was taken after exiting the Olympic Park station, and walking towards the Bird's Nest.
